Surforce (Qingdao) Technology Group announced the successful development of "Low-Carbon Industrialized Technology for Functional Nanofiber Nonwoven Materials." This breakthrough resolves the global challenge of mass-producing electrospun nanofibers, which were previously limited to laboratory or small-scale applications.
The new material provides a fluorine-free, environmentally friendly alternative to PTFE and TPU membranes, which are widely used in waterproof and breathable outdoor gear. By leveraging cost advantages from mass production, Surforce aims to push these high-performance protective membranes into daily functional apparel. The company has already confirmed partnerships with several international outdoor brands looking to phase out "forever chemicals" (PFAS) in their supply chains.
